I didn’t grow up working in restaurants, not in professional kitchens, not in the front of the house. My family even rarely ate out. I did, however, grow up eating good food.

When I was a kid, I was really fortunate that my mom cooked and baked constantly. I’m convinced my parents inadvertently trained my taste buds, and my mom’s cooking has always, and continues to, influence my view on food and its importance and goodness. From that, my genuine love, appreciation, and curiosity for food grew. This blog is a forum for me to write about my encounters with local comestibles as well as some of my culinary travel experiences.

I work in media relations and marketing at the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. I have the honor and privilege to learn about and work with many talented chefs, restaurateurs, food producers, and other local partners who make San Antonio’s culinary scene one of the richest and fastest growing in the country.

In addition, I sit on the Communications committee for local non-profit Culinaria, San Antonio’s wine and culinary arts festival.
